Through no fault of his own, a young member who just joined the ACW has cancer spreading all over his body.
Like the 3000 who perished in that awful tragedy of 9/11, Tim was at work, when a building came crashing down
around him.
For the past eight (8) years, Tim has been battling this disease, but he has faith, he proclaims, "With God,
nothing is impossible."
We concur with Tim, though times be hard, faith and hope continus to be the theme of his life. He never asks
why me, despite what he suffers, he reaches out to others, we have learned much from him.
We are reminded that there are many who suffer from illnesses of many forms, be it a decease, famine or
political unrest; but we are reminded by The Psalmists David, "God is our refuge and strength a very present
help in trouble.",This is where our source of strength should lie. It is comforting knowing that with God nothing
is impossible, there will be a continuance of grief, but we must use the resources given to us to rely on Him.
Let us this Lenten Season focus on 4 things:
1. Pray with others .
2. Look to God, rather than the impossibilities of your situation.
3. Seek the resources only God can give, wisdom, strength, and defeating impossible missions.
4. Let all around you know to the mighty GOD you serve, he has answers, you (they) don’t .
Hymn Canticle of the Lenten Month
salms 46
GOD is our hope and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved,
And though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof rage and swell,
And though the mountains shake at the tempest of the same.
There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God;
the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most Highest.
God is in the midst of her, therefore shall she not be removed;
God shall help her, and that right early.
The nation make much ado, and the kingdoms are moved;
But God hath showed his voice, and the earth shall melt away.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
O come hither, and behold the works of the Lord,
What destruction he hath brought upon the earth.
He maketh wars to cease in all the world
He breaketh the bow, and knappeth the spear in sunder,
And burneth the chariots in the fire.
Be still then, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the nations,
And I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Watch how you go this month
