In an e-mail to the ACW:

What is the ACW's position  on abortion?

Vinton, Basseterre
St Kitts, West Indies
Answer:

The ACW's position is directed by the Word of God. In this new age of
political correctness, we could give you many philosophical answers, but
that would only create more questions. There are those who would tell you
that abortion is only acceptable if a mother's life is in danger, or in the case
of rape. We agree on the principal of the mother's life; but while rape is a
horrible violation of another, there are many options that can be examined
to save the life of a child, such as adoption. We in the ACW, do not make
judgment calls on this issue, but merely put forth that seeking God's
guidance on this is the path to follow.

The fifth of the Ten Commandments, given to Moses on Mount Sinai,
forbids direct and intentional killing as gravely sinful. The ACW believes
that  life begins at conception. It is the life of a human being with its own
growth. It therefore teaches that unborn children should be recognized as
having the rights of a person, of which the most fundamental is that of a
right to life for all innocent human beings. Human life should be protected
from the moment of conception until natural death. Any procurement of
abortion merits bring grave moral questions to the Church and is subjected
to the conditions provided by the our Canon Law. This teaching against
abortion, according to the Catechism of the Anglican Faith Catholic Church,
has not changed since the first century and "remains unchangeable".
