The Folly of the Waters
(From Paducah Kentucky)

Come with me to see the folly of the waters
Where two rivers meet
Majestically it could only be by the hand of God
But alas you shall see the great divide

There is no plan to this
Just the waters moving to its destination
A destination that no one knows
It is restless as it flows
As only can be imagined

See the murals of time
Where history finds its place
Children splashing in the summers cool evening waters
Making light of what may have been a tiresome day

And then
You shall see, twas not as it was before
There is much to enjoy
From this small repose
Is only what you deserve

Tis the moors where the ship comes in the night
Breaking the silence of the darkness
by their distant  passing  by, carrying their wares
Unaware that you are standing by
….. Watching
