General Information
What Do We Believe?
What is the Anglican Church Worldwide? (ACW)

Because of the move away from the word of God in the faith, order, and discipline of
mainstream Anglicans to what is now called "political correctness", the ACW was born to
ensure the upholding of the faith and the word of God. This does not mean that the ACW is the
only traditional church to do so, but we enforce the word of God in all our practices.
From time to time it is necessary to make adjustments" and theological
changes, but always within the frame work of the Holy Spirit.

The ACW holds to the principles of the traditional faith of which we believe is the word of God
and the fulfillment of Christian Faith. We believe that Christ died for us, there is no other
variation, questions or thought. These attributes are true Matters of "Faith", not to be
changed, compromised or ignored by the stewards and clergy of the church We believe the
Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments contain all things necessary to salvation, and
are the ultimate rule and standard of faith. We present our faith by the Nicene and Apostle's
Creeds as positive statements of the Christian faith and growth. We emphasize the necessity
of the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We support Apostolic Succession.

The ACW is a worldwide church that has set its goals of ‘reaching out to the world’ seeking to
bring all who love the lord and seek to do what we call the three "Ws"... seek his WILL, obey
his WORD, and do his WORK. We reach out to all as we send forth the message of salvation

VISION
Reaching out to the world and to promote Peace, Unity, and Reconciliation

MISSION
The mission of the ACW is to live the ancient faith of the Church, to celebrate the peace of
Christ, and to build unity in the holy catholic and apostolic church through our Scriptural
tradition and the proclamation of the Gospel.

ORIGIN AND PRESENT STATUS
The ACW was established following the merger of the African orthodox church inc. (AOC) and
the Anglican/African orthodox church (AAOC)

The ACW has reached out to churches in the United States, South America, Australia, the
Philippines, Europe and several countries in Africa.

ACW was the universal name given to the Province in February, 2002, building upon the
foundation of earlier Provinces of the of the Anglo-Catholic Church in America and the World.

DOCTRINE
We believe the Bible to be the Revealed Word of God. We seek to glorify God through our
adherence to the "faith once delivered to the saints." We are rooted in a faith that is the same
yesterday, today and forever.

We bear witness to Tradition, as set forth in the Apostolic teachings of the ancient Fathers
and Doctors of the Church and in the ecumenical decrees of the Undivided Church.

We respect the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion as set forth in the Book of Common Prayer.

PURPOSE
We believe that the ACW has been called to be a witness to the love of Christ to a hurting and
disillusioned world. Our mission is to offer ourselves as servants to those in need, through
Worship, preaching, teaching and healing ministries. We seek to recover much that has been
lost through political correctness theologies, seen elsewhere, that trivialize the faith, making
it meaningless

APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION
The ACW maintains Apostolic Succession. It is three-fold Orders of Bishop, Priest and Deacon.
We follow the ancient custom of bestowing these Holy Orders uniquely upon those who
profess call of Christ. We also recognize the holy office of Deaconess as a unique and
important ministry for those women called to serve the church.

THE MINISTRY OF THE LAITY
Our clergy are dedicated to "equipping" the church by teaching the faith in order that each
Christian may go into the world to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to fulfill his works
of mercy and love.

COOPERATION WITH OTHERS
It is our intent to reach out into the world and offer ourselves as examples of Christian love.
While preserving our Anglican heritage and traditions, we offer to share them with all, through
dialogue and discussion, culminating in Concordats of Inter-communion with like-minded
Churches.

SACRAMENTS
The ACW makes use of all seven sacraments. All sacraments and considered necessary to the
process of salvation. We recognize Holy Baptism, The Holy Eucharist, Confirmation, Penance,
Holy Unction, Ordination, Marriage
All these have great effect and importance on the Christian in the course of daily life

LANGUAGE AND LITURGY
The language of the Prayer Book and of the King James Bible may seem outdated today.
However, the beauty of the language and the majesty of the Liturgy in the symbolism of the
Anglican heritage are too precious a legacy to lose. Therefore, they are preserved in our
worship life. Individual parishes, however, may choose the degree to which they follow
traditional practices. We are tolerant of low church, high church,
and broad church expressions. We use the Book of Common Prayer of 1928, and other
approved liturgical texts such as, The Anglican The American, and The English Missals.
