Laughter

With all the drudgery that in this world
There is still room for laughter
Hear the preacher ‘Christ is the answer’
Could you please tell me
What is the question?

In nursery rhymes in days of youth
They told me Humpty Dumpty fell of the wall
The kings most brilliant men
Could not save Humpty this relaxing egg
My aging eyes now uncovers the facts
These most intelligent men
Showed up with a flying pan, forks
Butter and green onions
All dress up for supper
Our investigation has concluded
Humpy Dumpy was pushed

Hear Shakespeare lament
He who steals my purse steals trash
What in the world is a grown man
Doing with a purse

All day long Caesar was told
Do not go to work today
There was a knife sale in town
He went anyway

Horse racing is a beautiful thing to watch
But you know you are not lucky
When you cannot pick a winner
In a one horse race

Life is like a bowl of cherries
Possibly spoken by
An overworked, underpaid fruit picker
Laugh on……………………
