Bringing the fight to the community, was the sermon topic that the Rev Martin Harris of New
Fellowship Christian Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois, brought to us on our Anniversary
Sunday, November 1st. In his message he challenged us to not sit and wait for people to walk
though the doors or for problems to wreck our community, but to identify the needs of the
community and work to building not only a congregation but a strong foundation in our
community.
So was the charge given and we were blest with representatives from fourteen (14) community
congregations; the vision of the parish continues. Special thanks to our ACW congregation from
Kansas City and St Joseph, MO who made the five (5) hour journey to be with us(18 in
number). Our thanks also to Archbishop Ross who traveled to be with us for all this and a
wonderful financial blessing; we say, Thanks be to God.
The parish will continue to build on this blessing, we pray for your support.
